Ohio University is a Carnegie Foundation R1 (highest research activity) institution, and the successful applicant will demonstrate a strong research record. Our clinical program follows the scientist-practitioner model of training and maintains an on-site training clinic that provides ample opportunities for clinical practice and research. Reflecting the department’s commitment to collaborative, cross-disciplinary scholarship, research specialties often cut across both the experimental and clinical psychology programs. Multiple resources for developing and maintaining a strong research program are available, including infrastructure for grant procurement, grant mentoring, research lab space, and start-up funds.
Responsibilities include maintaining an active, high-quality, fundable research program, directing graduate student research, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, supervising assessment and/or psychotherapy practica, and participating in departmental service. Teaching load is typically 1-2 courses each semester during the 9-month academic calendar, depending on research productivity. Candidates must be committed to working effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds.
