Job Summary
The College of Humanities, Education, and Social Sciences at Purdue University Northwest announces an exciting opportunity to apply for an Associate Professor or Professor faculty position in our CACREP Accredited Master of Science in Education – Counselor Education Program to start August 2025. The successful candidates will teach graduate courses, participate in program governance as a core faculty member, provide supervision for graduate student therapists, and have the opportunity to collaborate on research or develop new projects. This is a full-time position that comes with a generous benefit package; Salary is commensurate with rank and experience. Position Responsibilities and Description
The successful candidate will serve as a core faculty member (meeting CACREP faculty eligibility requirements) in our in-person accredited program. Standard expectations of the position include that the incumbent will: (a) teach graduate level courses within the counseling program; (b) cultivate and maintain relationships with supervisors in community mental health agencies and schools through providing supervision and clinical oversight for students on internship; (c) participate in program governance (e.g. work collaboratively on accreditation and program improvement efforts); (d) collaborate with faculty within and outside of the School of Education and Counseling on scholarly activities; and (e) participate in beneficial service to the school, college, university, community, and profession. Of particular interest are candidates who would be excited, willing, and/or able to take on leadership roles in the program – specifically Program Coordination, or Clinical Training oversight.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Doctoral Degree from a CACREP Accredited Counselor Education
and Supervision Program – ABD will be considered if degree in hand
by start date
- Training and ability to provide supervision for Master’s Level
Counseling Students in either Community Mental Health Counseling,
Addictions Counseling, or School Counseling
- Evidence and commitment to working effectively with faculty,
staff, students and clients from diverse backgrounds
- Licensure (at Associate or Full Level) in Indiana and Illinois,
or eligibility, by start date
- Experience for teaching in a university setting, preferably at
the graduate level

The School of Education and Counseling programs are accredited by the State of Indiana, and nationally accredited through the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). The Counseling Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling programs are accredited through the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). We offer several graduate certificates in addition to our CACREP Accredited Programs, including an Expressive Arts Counseling Certificate, and Indiana Counselors Association on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (ICAADA) approved certificates in Addiction Counseling, and a new certificate program just launched in Medically Assisted Recovery.
