Position
Auburn University seeks a 9-month non-tenure track appointment as a lecturer of Global Studies (95% teaching, 5% service), renewable annually based upon need, funding, and performance. The position is housed in the College of Human Sciences Office of Global Education and the role involves teaching 3-4 sections of undergraduate courses in one or more of the following areas each semester: Global Studies in Human Sciences; Development Practice; Study Abroad; Professional Development; Global Studies Internships. Other duties may include advising undergraduate students; being an active team member within the program; being actively involved with industry and relevant professional associations; being actively involved in the work of the Office of Global Education; advising global studies clubs and honor societies.

The College of Human Sciences provides programs that promote living well through a focus on human health and well-being. The curriculum for each program is interdisciplinary across the myriad of Human Sciences disciplines, and each seeks to challenge students with real-world experiences and hands-on learning. This preparation produces graduates that have a broad worldview, a diverse understanding of the world in which they live and work, and a commitment to building a better world.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in Global Studies, Sustainability, Human Sciences, or related field at the time employment is scheduled to begin. Must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed duration of appointment. Must be able to communicate effectively in English and must possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
Ph.D. desired. Experience teaching in global studies, hunger studies, sustainability, or related field; professional experience in development; interest in interdisciplinary teaching initiatives; experience with active learning and flipped classroom teaching methodology; experience with distance education; experience with study abroad.
