The nature of this role is highly externally focused, requiring frequent travel and meetings on and off campus during regular and non-traditional business hours, and is therefore expected to operate with high-levels of autonomy.

Essential Functions

Purpose
  • Champion a culture of excellence and high performance by driving organizational commitment to our values, culture, and employee engagement.
  • Lead the charge in tracking, analyzing, and presenting fundraising performance metrics to ensure we meet our established goals.

Collaboration
  • Lead and inspire fundraising teams across Auburn University, coaching development staff and forging strong partnerships with campus leaders to enhance philanthropic support.
  • Collaborate closely with the Associate Vice President to execute and oversee impactful fundraising programs, including annual giving initiatives and special projects.
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with donors, alumni, foundations, and corporate partners to advance Auburn’s mission.

Innovation
  • Spearhead change initiatives that emphasize organizational growth and performance.
  • Lead the exploration of data-driven approaches to personalize donor experiences, enhancing both engagement and long-term loyalty.
  • Develop and implement innovative fundraising strategies that leverage emerging trends and technologies to expand Auburn’s donor base and enhance engagement.

Production
  • Travel extensively to engage with donors, prospects, and development staff, representing Auburn with passion and dedication.
  • Operate with autonomy and flexibility, adapting to a highly externally focused role that demands frequent travel and varied hours.
