Job Summary/Basic Function
This position is responsible for coordinating the financial administration of the School of Agriculture, managing stakeholder partnerships (e.g., the School of Agriculture advisory board), and coordinating outreach efforts (e.g., on- and off-campus marketing and recruitment, social media messaging, newsletter production). The role includes personnel management, supervising and managing student personnel, and serving as the initial point of contact for faculty, staff, students, and industry partners. Essential duties include:
*maintain, monitor, and reconcile department and farm budgets;
*oversee farm revenue budgeting and invoicing;
* manage purchasing card reconciliation and record-keeping;
* coordinate international travel budgets and contracts;
* submit purchase requisitions, bids, blanket purchase orders, and contracts for office, farm, and laboratory supplies, adhering to MTSU policies;
* perform class scheduling tasks and update the School of Agriculture website;
* schedule and coordinate meetings;
* lead event coordination efforts, including invoicing and logistics;
* coordinate the design of departmental communications and marketing materials (e.g., emails, graphics, posters);
* execute the employment process for faculty and staff;
* serve as the Chair's liaison and, under the Chair's direction, represent the School of Agriculture at internal and external events;
* coordinate safety training protocols and annual safety reviews in compliance with OSHA 10-hour General Industry safety standards for the School of Agriculture's learning laboratories, including the farm;
* oversee the maintenance of departmental equipment;
* perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Agriculture or other STEM field, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or Education.
Required Related Experience
One year of demonstrated organizational skills, communication skills to reach target audiences, event planning and/or coordination skills.
Desirable Related Experience
Experience in a university setting is preferred. Experience planning events is preferred. Successful recruitment event coordination is preferred.
Desirable License/Registration/Certification
OSHA 10 General Industry credential
