About ELAM, Office of Faculty, College of Medicine

Established in 1995, the Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine® (ELAM) program offers an intensive one-year fellowship of leadership training with extensive coaching, networking and mentoring opportunities aimed at expanding the national pool of qualified women candidates for leadership in academic medicine, dentistry, public health and pharmacy. ELAM is the only program of this type in the United States.

In 2022 ELAM introduced a new program, Executive Leadership in Health Care (ELH), designed for senior-level women leaders interested in advancing in hospitals and healthcare systems. ELAM has more than 1,200 alumnae at 290 institutions in North America and beyond. This role is responsible for providing consultation to leadership on advancing strategic program objectives and expertise in working with executive leadership enterprises.

Job Summary

Adjunct Faculty for ELAM/ELH will provide guidance to leadership in specific areas of expertise, present at in person sessions, and review areas of the curriculum to ensure quality.

Essential Functions
  • Provide strategic leadership of the ELAM and ELH program and curriculum development
  • Facilitate select ELAM sessions, seek out opportunities for co-development of curriculum that will support co-learning of ELH and ELAM participants
  • Participate in the ELAM Program evaluation process to ensure high quality and cutting-edge curriculum
Required Qualifications
    • MD or PhD
    • Demonstrated expertise in area of focus (scholarship, leadership roles, etc.)
