Job Details
Gettysburg College is seeking a full-time Assistant Controller reporting directly to the Director of Financial Services/Controller.
The Assistant Controller position is responsible for:
- Monitoring federal, state, and local compliance and tax issues.
- Management of the Accounts Payable and Payroll staff.
- Daily operations of the PeopleSoft (PS) Financials Information system by providing support and troubleshooting of the General ledger, Accounts Payable and Reporting modules and the related interfaces into the PS Financials System.
- Oversight of the preparation of the College’s 990 and 990-T as well as related state tax returns and subsidiary corporate and state returns.
- Providing oversight of the college’s procurement purchasing card program, the college’s credit card merchant accounts, the campus e-market solution, and provide support to the Controller for Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance.
- Assisting with the implementation of special projects, performing financial analysis and research
- Providing support for subsidiary accounting and financial reporting.
- Assisting in establishing, documenting, and monitoring internal controls and financial recording best practices as it relates to the accounting system and serves as a backup to other systems maintained by the Financial Services department.
- The position establishes, builds, and maintains a positive and proactive relationship with both internal and external customers and assists the Controller with the flow of communication within the Financial Services department, Finance and Administration division and campus wide.
