QUALIFICATIONS

In order to apply for this position, you must be a current Harper College student, enrolled in at least six credits per semester (three for summer).

JOB DESCRIPTION

General Function:
  • Provide general assistance as determined by the department.
The responsibilities for Editor in Chief will include:

Serve as the point person for the Harbinger, especially for students who reach out

Manage various social media accounts to actively market and promote our work

Manage the Harbinger website and back end, make edits, upload stories for publishing.

Assist me, in first round editing of staff stories

Write and produce 5 pieces of content for the Harbinger (per semester)******

Manage the what's app group to communicate with staff

Set up weekly meetings via zoom

Respond to the harbinger email account, to tips, questions etc.

Think of story ideas to pursue or assign others

Create a list of resources for student reporters

This student will be required to work 20 hours a week, M-F (12-4 pm) with a daily check-in with me every day at noon.

The Liberal Arts division provides transfer ready courses to students in the areas of English, humanities, language, linguistics, communication and philosophy.
