Patient Relations Specialist
Job Summary
This position provides exceptional care for our patients and guests by offering them professional service and creating a memorable patient experience. The incumbent accurately and professionally handles all desk operations including, but not limited to, all phases of the patient registration and scheduling process. They will also advise patients on financial obligations which may include the establishment of payment plans. The core responsibilities of this role maximize efficiency through facilitating and ensuring the accuracy of the information flow between medical staff, hospital staff, and other various departments.
Responsibilities
- Greet all visitors/patients who come to Moran for medical appointment, surgery, meetings, collaborations, etc.
- Give directions to clinics/surgery, research, etc.
- Make calls for patients who need to be picked up by care centers, etc.
- Help patients who need extra guidance by taking them to the appropriate clinic, etc.
- Manage the room reservations for our auditorium, conference rooms.
- Answer phone calls coming to the front desk and be able to route appropriately.
- Ability to page overhead.
Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. High level of ownership, accountability and initiative Strong organizational and follow through skills. Highly motivated with attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently and independently. Technically strong and willing to learn new applications and software. Must have an excellent demeanor and present themselves in an exceptional, mature and professional manner. Demonstrates a passion for providing excellent customer service.
This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. We protect our patients, coworkers and community by requiring all patient-sensitive employees to be immunized according to CDC standards and hospital policy. Limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.

- Outgoing, friendly, understands the importance of customer relationships and will go out of their way to help those who come to Moran.
- Initial contact for our patients so the employee must be engaged.
- Ability to look up appointments in our computer system.
- Understand the confidentiality of patient information and abide by all HIPAA requirements.
- Bilingual (Spanish) would be helpful.
- Reliable and able to commit to regular attendance.
