Assistant Professor of Philosophy, Brown University, Providence, RI. Duties: Maintain an active research agenda on Kant and the post-Kantian idealist tradition; teach 3 courses per academic year; perform service to the program, including undergraduate and graduate advising; and perform departmental and university service. Sampling of classes that this position will teach: Early Modern Philosophy; Kant's Crit of Pure Reason; Kant's Moral Philosophy; Introduction to 19th Century Philosophy; and/or 17th Century Continental Rationalism. Minimum Requirements: 1) Must hold a PhD (or completion of all requirements for the PhD required before hire date); 2) Area of Specialization: Kant and post-Kantian idealist tradition; and 3) Area of Competence (just one of the following): aesthetics OR history of political thought OR history of philosophy of science.
