This type of appointment is not approved to work more than 999 hours per year for all positions combined. Should incumbents work more than a total of 999 hours in a year the appointment may not continue beyond one year of service.
Accountabilities
The teacher of voice is responsible for:
- Teaching voice lessons to students; relevant techniques and performance skills.
- Developing and implementing lesson plans catering to students’ needs and skill levels.
- Selecting appropriate repertoire and musical pieces for students to work on during lessons and performances.
- Staying updated with current trends and developments in voice pedagogy and incorporating innovative teaching methods into lessons.
- Meeting weekly with students to provide 30-minute or 60-minute lessons throughout the term.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching singing lessons on a one-on-one basis, with preference for experience teaching at the collegiate level.
- Professional performance experience preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate and work with students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in music required, master’s degree preferred.
