Position Summary
The Senior Pathway Specialist is a student success-centered leadership role responsible for providing comprehensive academic and career pathway programming and resources to current and prospective Dallas College students pursuing transfer degrees, Dallas College bachelor’s degrees, associates of applied sciences degrees, certificates, and TRUE (Texas Reskilling and Upskilling through Education) and Continuing Education pathways. The Senior Pathway Specialist is a collaborative leader responsible for managing academic pathway relationships with multiple internal and external partners to facilitate the student pathway journey from start to finish. This role works with academic partners to build robust and sustainable, industry-aligned pathway processes and cohort-based registration, using subject matter expertise to reduce barriers and student bounce, provide timely and relevant responses and solutions, correctly register students in cohort-based programs, ensure accurate course planning in career and transfer pathways, and shepherd course substitutions. They deliver accurate, School-specific academic, career resources and current and prospective student pathway programming that promotes student pathway selection, persistence, credential completion, and employment. The Senior Pathway Specialist is an expert in the programs of study in their assigned School with specific knowledge of the career alignment, regional job landscape, co-ops and internship requirements, industry-aligned certifications and licensure, starting and median salaries, and opportunities for career advancement for degree plans in their assigned School. In addition, this role supports academics and associated faculty in School-specific programming and initiatives both inside and outside of the classroom. The Senior Pathway Specialist leverages technology to effectively input, monitor and track School and pathway specific data that supports Division, School, and College goals. The Senior Pathway Specialist collaborates closely Success Coaches and associated faculty to collectively provide appropriate interventions that promote timely on-track credential completion, job placement and transfer. The Senior Pathway Specialist supports the Associate Dean of Pathway Success by providing leadership to School-aligned team members and by proactively ensuring that the specific needs of students considering or enrolled in pathways in their assigned school are met. Successful candidates will understand the unique needs of CTE students who are seeking certificates and degrees or are pursuing Continuing Education training to re-skill or up-skill for high demand jobs in growing industries and the unique needs of students transferring to a university.
Senior Pathway Specialists will support School-specific pathway planning, persistence, and completion for Dallas College students.

- Responsible for ensuring the delivery of accurate,
school-specific pathway career mapping for Dallas College
students.
- Responsible for providing precise credential and career support
for student-selected pathways.
- Responsible for collaborating with faculty, Success Coaches,
marketing and key stakeholders to develop and promote pathways for
all students, including
- special populations such as non-credit, dual credit, first-time
in college, developmental education, part-time, full-time, veteran,
ESL/ESOL, transfer-in and Adult
- Basic Education.
- Responsible for serving as the liaison for faculty and Success
Coaches with wrap-around support for student success.
- Responsible for working with College Coaches to provide
pathways information and support for prospective Dallas College
students to facilitate their identification of a career path,
choice of Dallas College program to pursue their career-aligned
educational goals and completion of program-specific pre-admissions

- Responsible for supporting the Associate Dean of Pathway
Success with assigned leadership tasks, including directly managing
School-aligned staff and/or leading initiatives in collaborative
teams of Senior Pathway Specialists
- Responsible for leading collaborative efforts among various
Dallas College stakeholders (including faculty and leaders in the
assigned School, Success Coaching, Career and Transfer, College
Coaching, the Employer Resource Center and others) to ensure that
students receive the wrap-around support required to meet their
specific needs.
- Responsible for assessing program outcomes and tracking student
pathway progress toward completion.
- Leverages technology to input, monitor and track initiatives
focused on student pathway completion.
- Knowledge of the purpose of community colleges and the vision
of Dallas College.
- Knowledge of Dallas College certificates, programs, and degrees
within the assigned School
- Depth of knowledge of academic advising, academic planning,
degree audit, Guided Pathways, career development, and labor market
data for the assigned
- School.
- Detail-oriented precision in reviewing and mapping student
academic and career pathways.
- Ability to develop strong, cross-departmental processes to
support student success.
- Proficiency in the use of quantitative and qualitative data to
inform service delivery improvement resulting in an improved
student experience and student
- success outcomes.
- Ability to handle multiple work priorities with accuracy and
attention to detail
- Experience in coordinating and delivering presentations to
staff, faculty and students and executing goal-oriented
tasks.
- Experience with emerging technologies and the effective
application of service technologies to enhance academic planning,

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus two (2) years of experience in a related
field OR associate’s degree plus seven (7) years of experience in a
related field. Master’s degree preferred. Official transcripts
required.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in workforce
development or direct student service capacity in pathway success
or Guided Pathways, academic advising, career development, success
coaching, first-year experience, retention and related fields, or
an industry-specific area aligning with the Dallas College
Schools.
- Ability to work extended hours beyond the regular 8:00 a.m. –
5:00 p.m. workday especially during heavy registration peak times
including nights and weekends. Ability to work weekly 10:00 a.m. -
7:00 p.m. shifts.
- Current and valid Texas driver’s license required for travel
between campuses.
- Bilingual or multi language skills preferred
- Successful candidate will have experience with health science
programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strategies to expand access to career-pathway
educational opportunities for non-traditional and under-resourced
student populations.
- Deliver accurate, School-specific academic, career and transfer
information, resources and pathway programming that promotes

- Enroll students in cohorted and employer-paid CTE programs in
close collaboration the assigned School and Success Coaching.
- Collaborate regularly with Success Coaches, Degree Audit,
Career and Transfer Skill Development, Academic, associated
faculty, Workforce, and other
- Student Success partners to promote student pathway
persistence, credential completion and employment.
- Collaborate with faculty and Success Coaches to create a
seamless student connection between the continuous and holistic
support of the Student Success
- Coach and the pathway-specific expertise of the Senior Pathway
Specialist.
- Collaborate with Student Success, Academics and Workforce
partners to strengthen student pathway options, resources, and
services.
- Develop and deliver Pathway Success programming that supports
faculty, staff and student awareness of pathway options, resources
and services.
- Respond to prospective student inquiries and referrals.
- Provide pathways support to credit, non-credit, dual
credit/early college/P-Tech, continuing education, and a variety of
other specialized student
- populations.
- Work with Dallas College Student Success colleagues to develop,
implement, and evaluate effectiveness of strategies for achieving
or exceeding annual
- targets for student enrollment, retention, completion, and job
placement by program.
- Work collaboratively with Dallas College Outreach and
Recruitment to support an enrollment funnel for prospective
students leading to increased
- enrollment.
- Host guided tours and support walk-in students and
parents.
- Collaborate with College Coaches to assist faculty with
recruitment visits to ISDs and organizing on-campus recruiting
events.
- Guide students through program-specific application
processes.
- Work collaboratively to support prospective student application
to admissions-restricted programs and pathway mapping with prior
coursework
- evaluation, course sequence mapping, course equivalencies and
credit for prior learning.
- Connect students with scholarship opportunities.
- Track student progress and assist with course enrollment each
semester from entry through completion of industry-recognized
credentials, certificates and
- degrees.
- Develop and maintain accurate website information on Dallas
College career pathways.
- Provide career and academic pathway information to assist
students in making informed choices of Program of Study.
- Manage course substitutions and pre-requisite waivers, in
collaboration with Degree Audit, between academic partners, Success
Coaching, and non-credit
- to credit pathways
- Connect ISD partners and Dallas College program leads and
faculty to promote Dallas College pathways for high-demand
careers
- Serve as industry-specific liaisons who support partner pathway
needs, such as Methodist Hospitals, State Farm, Amazon, Fed Ex and
Fire Departments
- Partner with program faculty to develop student recruitment and
retention plans, strategies, and written materials.
- Work collaboratively with Student Success and School
stakeholders to support the career exploration process.
- Connect faculty to appropriate Student Success resources to
support non-progressing students with further outreach and
intervention.
- Guide students through articulation of CEU credits to Level 1
Certificates and articulation of transfer credit from Associates to
Bachelors.
- Work collaboratively with Success Coaching to guide students
through Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) for experiential learning
or military training and experience where applicable.
- Identify and support connection to programs of study that are
appropriate for students with disabilities and justice-involved
students.
- Partner with College Coaches, Workforce Solutions Greater
Dallas, community organizations and other partners to market and
recruit adult learners for programs.
- Work collaboratively with the Employer Resource Center,
Work-Based Learning, Career Connected Learning, Career and Transfer
Skills Development and others to manage cohort Apprenticeship
programs.
- Work collaboratively with the Employer Resource Center to
connect employers from local and outlying areas with qualified
students and graduates to meet their hiring needs by promoting
co-op and job opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with Dallas College Alumni Relations to
build, track, and maintain alumni relations and connections with
Dallas College.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with Dallas College, state, and
federal requirements.
- Meet institutional and departmental goals by executing and
tracking assigned activities and evaluating outcomes.
- Prepare and present reports and leverage technology to track
and monitor progress; keeps detailed records of assigned
activities.
- Participate in required professional development to ensure
current knowledge of internal and external resources and
services.
- Leverage emerging technology to maintain systemic efficiencies
in the delivery and tracking of communications, services,
programming and experiences.
