Job Summary
The Administrative Assistant under direct supervision of the Assistant Director of New Student Programs and GCSU Welcome Center plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations of the GCSU Welcome Center. Provides front-line customer service for the students, faculty, staff, and administration at Georgia College & State University, and performs a variety of administrative and staff support duties for the department. This includes a variety of duties such as managing the front desk of the GCSU Welcome Center by assisting with incoming calls, tour check-in, tour scheduling, and tour emails, greeting and directing all visiting students and guests. This position will also serve as a backup to the Admissions Processing team during peak seasons or as needed. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with large mailings, and processing incoming documents.
Responsibilities
Administrative Support - 60
Provides excellent customer service to a large range of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the general public, and serves as an integral member of a customer-service oriented team. Resolves routine administrative problems and answers inquiries concerning activities and operations of department.
Bookkeeping - 20
Manages confidential communications and records in accordance with federal, state, and University policies. Supports the University mission and department goals. Promotes effective communication and positive relationships with all members of the department and campus community.
Admissions Processing - 15
Serves as a backup to the Admissions Processing team during peak seasons or as needed. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with large mailings, and processing incoming documents.
