Description
Applications for Part-Time Mental Health Counselor pools are continually accepted (unless otherwise specified) by the District. They will be added to the application pool for review by hiring authorities on an as-needed basis. Should you be invited for an interview, you will be contacted by a District representative.
Southwestern College is looking to hire a Part-Time Mental Health Counselor for Personal Wellness Services (PWS). The services available to students include individual appointments and workshops focused on helping students manage and resolve behavioral health symptoms, optimize student psychological, social, and academic functioning, enhance coping skills, and facilitate emotional well-being, student success, and retention.
Service modality is face-to-face with limited opportunity for remote service based on student need.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Master’s Degree in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy or marriage, family and child counseling OR the equivalent.
Note: A bachelor's degree in one of the listed degrees and a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is an alternative qualification for this discipline.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE
Licensure in California as a Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Professional Clinical Counselor.
Additional assessment is required for applicants with foreign degrees from colleges or universities outside of the United States. Applicants must have their coursework evaluated by a professional association that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services ( NACES ) and must submit a copy of the evaluation with the application.

SALARY SCHEDULE: Academic Part-time - Instructional
All District employees must participate in the COVID-19 Vaccination Program, which requires them to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless they receive an approved medical or religious exemption.
