Job Description:
The Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and Faculty Development, reporting to the Dean of the College of Medicine and Life Sciences, is responsible for providing leadership as well as oversight of the programs that support faculty professionals in all tenure and non-tenure tracks and across career stages (early, mid, late) with their core missions. In this capacity, the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and Development shall allocate necessary time and appropriate resources to these programs, to ensure their quality, maintain compliance with relevant accreditation standards, foster collaboration across all units within the College of Medicine and Life Sciences, and be responsive to the needs of the faculty. Faculty Professionalism is also included in the roles and responsibilities of this position. This position is considered part of the dean’s academic leadership team.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates are those who possess a terminal (Ph.D. or M.D.) degree with knowledge and experience in faculty development. Administrative academic and clinical experience is preferred. The candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills as well as strong organizational and time management skills. This position also requires the ability to collaborate and a commitment to teamwork. Candidate must be able to mentor and advise faculty members, as well as solicit faculty needs and develop programs and materials that meet their needs. The position also requires serving as liaison between faculty members and the Dean of the College of Medicine and Life Sciences. Applicants must be in good standing with all regulatory and governmental boards and agencies.
