Winona State University invites you to join our Community of Learners as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.  This position is a probationary/tenure-track appointment with an expected start date of 1/10/2022.  As a faculty member in the Department of Graduate Nursing programs, you will be directly responsible for teaching in an innovative and inspiring adult/gerontology acute care nurse practitioner (AGACNP) program. Classes taught include the Advanced Diagnostics and Therapeutics, Acute Care of Adults Seminars/Clinical I and II courses in the graduate certificate and doctoral program in nursing, and teaching courses in other graduate nursing core courses commensurate with department needs. Additional duties include (1) maintaining national certification as an Adult-Gerontology or Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and licensure as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in the State of Minnesota; (2) advising students; (3) chairing or serving on master’s thesis, scholarly inquiry paper, or Doctor of Nurse Practice Project committees; and (4) instructing courses in varied locations, at varied times, and via various media commensurate with department or university needs. Minimum qualifications for this position include (1) nationally certified as an adult or adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner through a nationally accredited master’s, graduate certificate, or Doctor of Nursing Practice program; (2) licensed as a registered nurse with current registration, or eligible for licensure, in Minnesota and Wisconsin and licensed as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN), or eligible for APRN licensure by the start date of the appointment, in Minnesota and Wisconsin; and (3) satisfactory background study clearance as required by Minnesota statutes.
