Job Summary
The Elmhurst Learning and Success Academy is a four-year certificate program for students with disabilities. We are seeking an individual to teach 3 ELSA Literacy credit courses:
Fall Semester
Spring Semester
Essential Functions
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Work Hours
Class offerings are primarily during the day (8:00 am – 4:00 pm). See Job Summary for specific information for the upcoming academic year.

- ELS 020 Introduction to College Life (Tuesday/Thursday 8:00-9:40)
- ELS 041 Differentiation of Literacy Skills (Tuesday/Thursday 9:50-11:35)
Spring Semester
- ELS 043 Application of Literacy Skills (Tuesday/Thursday 8:00-9:40)
Essential Functions
- Plans, organizes, and delivers instruction.
- Collaborates with Director and other adjunct faculty to evaluate, revise, and develop curriculum as needed for mastery of course content.
- Provides students with assessment and clear feedback regarding academic performance.
- Documents student progress and maintains accurate records such as attendance, grading, and achievement of student learning outcomes.
- Demonstrates flexibility in working and problem solving with staff regarding student/class needs.
- Maintains office hours.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Master’s Degree in Special Education, Higher Education, Counseling or related field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to collaborate and build rapport with students.
