The Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is seeking outstanding candidates for multiple tenure-track or tenured positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The Department will also support eligible outstanding junior candidates in their application for the Presidential Young Professorship (PYP) and the National Research Foundation (NRF) Fellowship with substantial research grant funding support.

The Department is recognised worldwide as a premier MSE department centred in Asia and is in a phase of rapid expansion. It offers a stimulating environment conducive to professional growth, with moderate teaching loads and extensive international and industry collaborations. Our thriving PhD programme attracts the most talented students from the region and beyond. Materials Science and Engineering is recognised as a key research area at NUS, which currently hosts 6 Centres of Excellence, 5 Corporate Laboratories, and 37 Research Centres and Institutes providing cutting-edge facilities in materials synthesis, characterisation, device fabrication, and prototyping. With the start- up friendly ecosystem in Singapore, MSE faculties also find exciting possibilities for translational research and commercialisation via incubation schemes.

Successful candidates should demonstrate the potential to build a world-class research programme and a commitment to education and mentorship of students. PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or a related field must be completed by start day of employment. We seek candidates with proven expertise in the fields of Soft Materials and Flexible Electronics, Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Materials, Materials for Microelectronics, or Materials Characterization and Modelling. Candidates from other fields of materials science and engineering are also welcome to apply.
