The Director for Grants Administration position is responsible for providing oversight and assistance with the compliance and administration of private, state, and federal grants and subcontracts consistent with the expectations outlined in the funding source and College, state, and federal policies and procedures. The Director for Grants Administration is responsible for providing leadership in facilitating development and enhancement of initiatives in support of the College’s current operation for the purposes of grant management. This position reports to the Vice President for Administrative Services.

Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and funding source regulations by reviewing grant solicitations, monitoring expenditures, tracking Time and Effort reporting, and maintaining required registrations (e.g., SAM.gov).;
- Stay informed of agency requirements, College policies, and compliance topics through ongoing training and regularly maintain and update the College’s Grant Procedures Handbook.;
- Monitor grant expenditures, subrecipient payments, and payroll transfers to ensure timely spending, resolve variances, and prevent unallowable expenditures;
- Assist in developing competitive grant proposals, reviewing budgets, and leading award negotiations to align expenditures with programmatic goals;
- Maintain open and regular communications with grant administrators, pre-award staff, grants accounting staff, and other applicable College staff to report progress toward meeting objectives and address any grant management compliance issues;
- Work with grant administrators and other departments to evaluate positions needed and pay structures are followed per the Collective Bargaining Agreements and other College policies;
- Provide guidance to the grant evaluation process, both pre- and post- award, and act as a liaison to the funding agency for questions regarding grant program implementation;
- Develop and provide training for faculty and staff on internal grant management procedures and best practices, including specific funder requirements;
- Prepare and submit progress and summary reports for grant administrators and College leadership, ensuring accurate recordkeeping of grant activities;
- Lead negotiation of the College’s Indirect Rate Agreement with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services;
- Work with Marketing and Communications staff to promote and market the work of grants received; and
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree from an institutionally accredited college or university;
- Two years of grants administration or grants/contracts experience in which developing, monitoring, and ensuring outcomes/ compliance was required; and
- Knowledge and technical expertise in understanding comprehensive grant and contracts agreements and compliance requirements.
- Master’s degree from an institutionally accredited college or university;
- Experience with the PeopleSoft Oracle Grants Module software;
- Experience working in higher education; and
- Designation of Certified Research Administrator (CRA), Certified Financial Research Administrator (CFRA) or Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS).

Terms of Employment
This is a full-time, overtime exempt, administrative staff position. The typical work hours for this position are Monday through Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; however, work hours will vary due to work demands (this will include evening and weekend work as required).

WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach and manipulate objects. The position requires mobility including having the ability to move materials on a regular basis such as files, books, office equipment, etc. and travel between buildings on campus. Manual dexterity and coordination are required to operate equipment such as computer keyboard, calculator, and standard office equipment.
Work environment includes office and other settings as appropriate. It is a fast paced and sometimes stressful service environment. The noise level in the work area is typical of most office environments with telephones, personal interruptions, and background noises. This position has an occasional need for travel.
