The School of Engineering offers BS degrees in Mechanical, Electrical, and Industrial Engineering. We plan to begin offering a BS in Civil Engineering and an MS in Engineering Management in Fall 2025, with more undergraduate and graduate programs planned over the next few years. The School of Engineering resides in the new CollegeTowne facility in downtown Reading, Pennsylvania. This 250,000 ft2 building houses the engineering, business, and health science programs and is minutes from the main part of campus.
Job Summary:
Alvernia University’s School of Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track Civil Engineering faculty position at the Assistant Professor level to start in Fall 2025. Successful candidates will (1) hold a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline by August 2025, (2) demonstrate the potential to create a sustainable research agenda, (3) demonstrate the potential to educate and mentor students, and (4) have a commitment to undergraduate education.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate-level courses and labs, conduct original research, advise and mentor undergraduate students, and perform service at the Department, College, and University levels. Additionally, the candidate will become an integral part of expanding the undergraduate and graduate offerings of the School of Engineering over the next several years.
This position is heavily focused on teaching and service, with a more modest expectation of research and publication. This position is located in Reading, Pennsylvania, and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.
