About the Department

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders offers programs for master’s, Ph.D., Audiology Assistants, and an Audiology Specialty Certificate. The department has a robust reputation in teaching, research, scholarly achievement, and clinical training for a diverse student body. Faculty members engage in multidisciplinary research and interdisciplinary collaborations within the university, Atlanta community, and internationally. Additionally, faculty members have a history of external funding from the National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Education, and various private agencies and organizations.

Position Description

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the College of Education and Human Development at Georgia State University invites applications for a full-time, 10-month tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in the Fall of 2025. This is a full-time academic year position.

The faculty member will:
· Develop, pursue, and maintain an active research agenda
· Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in communication sciences and disorders (2- 2 teaching load)
· Mentor and direct graduate student theses and dissertations, and undergraduate student research
· Contribute to the department, college, university, and professional service

Required Experience

Required Education

An earned Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution by the start of the position

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

· Expertise in speech-language pathology or related areas
· Established or potential for collaboration across the department, college, and university
· Scholarship positioned to address the needs and challenges of urban communities, consistent with the mission of the university.
· Experience in classroom teaching
-An ongoing record of scholarly work commensurate with the rank of Assistant Professor
-Demonstrated a line of research with a strong potential for external funding
