The School of Information Technology invites applications for one tenure-track position beginning August 16, 2025. We are seeking qualified candidates in the field of Computer Science.

The school emphasizes balanced excellence in innovative instruction and research. Candidates looking for a balanced experience that includes recognition and rewards for great teaching and strong research are especially encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will be qualified, as evidenced by education or prior experience, to teach in a variety of core and advanced computer science courses, such as, but not limited to, theory of computation, algorithm design and analysis, and concepts of programming languages. Successful candidates will conduct research related to any area of computer science, ideally areas with the potential to overlap or complement research areas of current faculty, and the potential to publish in high-quality outlets.
Responsibilities will include: Teach undergraduate/graduate courses, develop a focused area of scholarly research, supervise graduate students, and provide service to the University, College, School, profession, and community. We are particularly interested in applicants with a demonstrated interest in mentoring first-generation students and those from other traditionally under-represented groups. The normal teaching load is nine credit hours per semester. The individual in this position is thus expected to teach 3 courses each semester in the School of Information Technology.
Salary, Rank and Tenure: The position is a nine-month, tenure track appointment with the possibility of summer teaching. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. The locus of annual evaluation, tenure, and promotion in rank will be in School of Information Technology. A comprehensive benefits package is included.

The School of Information Technology’s computer science program has been in high growth mode for several years, currently boasting 500 undergraduate majors, a new Master’s program, and an accelerated undergraduate sequence that allows students to complete their master’s degree in one additional year. Our faculty are active researchers with significant overlapping interests in areas like artificial intelligence, machine learning, healthcare IT, and cybersecurity. Required Qualifications
1) A doctoral degree in Computer Science or a closely related field with an expected completion of their doctoral degree before May 15, 2026.
2) Candidates must be able to demonstrate oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position, as mandated by state law.
