The Office of the Vice Dean for Education is seeking anAssistant Dean for Enrollment Management (Director Enrollment Management) who will report to the Vice Dean for Education and will play a lead role in the development, planning, and execution of data-driven enrollment strategies to support Johns Hopkins School of Medicine enrollment goals for graduate degree programs. The Assistant Dean for Enrollment Management will develop data analytics related to the student market, student enrollment and related demographics to support the development of enrollment strategies and the execution of those strategies.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with the School of Medicine Office of Medical Student Admissions, with graduate student admissions, and with the School of Medicine Office of Financial Aid Services to develop data-driven and analytics-based recruitment and financial aid strategies to support enrollment goals.
  • Work with the School of Medicine Office of Medical Student Admissions, with graduate student admissions, and with the School of Medicine Office of Financial Aid Services to elevate the use of data, analytics and reporting within the enrollment entity.
  • Ensure that the School of Medicine Office of Medical Student Admissions, graduate student admissions, and the School of Medicine Office of Financial Aid Services work in concert to support enrollment goals.
  • Create and regularly update admission and enrollment dashboards to monitor admissions and enrollment activity.
  • Use data to define and characterize yield behavior within and between groups (e.g., demographic, socioeconomic, geographic groups) and to generate enrollment yield models for specific groups and types of applicants based on their characteristics.
  • Ensure effective development and execution of enrollment marketing initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations to improve enrollment performance and support enrollment goals for Admissions and registration goals.
  • Develop strategies for financial aid packaging that will support enrollment goals.
  • Develop market research and data to help inform enrollment strategies.
  • Implement CRM technology to increase outreach, improve conversion, and enhance service with prospective and current students.
  • Create and manage a performance measurement framework to be used across degree programs in line with best practice standards in reporting.
  • Work closely with team members in the Office of the Vice Dean for Education and the School of Medicine Office of Financial Aid Services to support the School’s strategic enrollment priorities.
  • Collaborate with the JHM Data Trust and JHM Marketing and Communications team to meet the needs of enrollment management, marketing and analytics.
  • Collaborate with the Johns Hopkins University Office of the Vice Provost for Admissions and Financial Aid to develop and review enrollment strategies.

Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):

The Assistant Dean for Enrollment Management should bring the following qualifications, professional experiences, and personal attributes:

  • Master's degree or above required. Five years of progressively responsible enrollment management experience in an academic or related environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership in designing and implementing strategic initiatives around enrollment.
  • Understands student behavior and trends within financial aid and admissions.
  • Expertise in translating a vision and strategy into a practical plan with concrete steps of implementation with measurable enrollment outcomes.
  • Understanding of market differentiation related to student recruitment and enrollment and able to define/characterize yield behavior within and between groups (e.g., demographic, socioeconomic, geographic groups).
  • Able to generate statistical enrollment yield models related to specific groups and types of applicants based on their characteristics.
  • Understanding of the national trends and issues related to graduate student recruitment in higher education.
  • Strategic and analytical in approach to student admissions and financial aid.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities, analyze data, and think systematically from both a detailed and a strategic perspective.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational and problem-solving skills.

Starting Salary Range: $92,570 - $127,270 annually (commensurate with experience)

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
