The Department of Literature at Claremont McKenna College (CMC) invites applications for a tenure-track position, at the assistant or associate professor level for a novelist or short story writer, with at least one published book. A secondary interest in creative nonfiction is welcome. The position will begin on July 1, 2025.

The successful applicant will teach undergraduate fiction workshops and seminars in addition to the first-year writing seminar. The teaching load is two courses per semester. The candidate must have a strong record of publication and the highest standards of excellence in teaching. Also, an interest in program development and leadership of the creative writing program are required.

Anticipated annual salary range:

$90,000 - $125,000
