The Department of History at the University of North Alabama (www.una.edu) invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor of pre-1900 Black History in North America. Preference will be given to candidates with a History Ph.D. in hand by August 2022. Responsibilities include teaching survey courses, advanced upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of specialization, as well as contributing to the Black Studies minor. Typical teaching loads are 4/4, in addition to scholarship, advising, and service. Specific responsibilities, however, are to be determined by the department chair. Review of applications will begin on October 15, 2021 and continue until the position is filled.
