Summary

We are seeking a talented individual for a full-time position to join our team at Baylor College of Medicine- Center for Innovation Quality Effectiveness and Safety. This is a Research Coordinator II position supporting the project GamePlan4Care: Web-based Delivery System for REACH II. The focus of the project is on healthcare improvement in a hospital setting working with care partners of hospitalized adults with dementia. Job duties involve coordinating day-to-day activities of research protocols which include screening, enrollment, and monitoring of research participants. This role will ensure accurate data collection, documentation, organization and safety of research participants.

Job Duties
  • Interviews, screens, and recruits participants for studies; explains process and procedures to educate participant regarding the research study.
  • Liaises with clinical partners to recruit participants and attend meetings with clinical stakeholders.
  • Collects participant information; processes documents, and enters information into a database.
  • Corresponds with participants throughout study.
  • Schedules research participants for tests and procedures specific for the research protocol.
  • Assists with daily administrative tasks like preparing study materials, photocopying, organizing and filing documents, mailing study materials, working with confidential files.
  • Assists with maintaining records and regulatory documents for research studies.
  • Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
  • Collects qualitative and quantitative data from research participants.
  • Develops and modifies computer programs.
  • Trains and orients less experienced research staff.
  • Orders supplies and equipment.
  • Researches methodologies.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Experience with qualitative data analysis.
  • Experience with quality improvement, human-centered design, or implementation science.
  • Experience conducting interviews for qualitative research, either as part of a course or research study
  • Personal or professional experience in geriatrics or dementia care.

  • Individual should be enthusiastic, organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, punctual, professional, willing to be flexible and adaptable, and have excellent communication skills.
  • The research coordinator will have to be adaptive and resilient and able to work with people from many different backgrounds and have exceptional interpersonal skills, this includes interacting with adults with dementia and their care partners
