Full-time Faculty Position

The Department of Pathology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine invites applicants with a M.D. degree to apply for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Neuropathology, in the Division of Anatomic Pathology, Laboratories of Pathology, University of Maryland Medical Center. Applicants must be board certified or board eligible in Anatomic Pathology and Neuropathology. Clinical responsibilities in Neuropathology (shared with others) include intraoperative neurosurgical consultation and permanent section interpretation, muscle and nerve biopsy interpretation, autopsy brain examination and neuropathology consultations. The ideal candidate will have clinical, educational, and research interests in neuro-oncology and will function as part of the Neuro-oncology Program, the Maryland Proton Treatment Center, and the University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center. This team collaborates to provide highly specialized and personalized Neuro-oncology care in a multi-disciplinary framework.

The applicant should have evidence of scholarly achievement, preferably in Molecular Neuropathology related to Neuro-oncology. Candidates with a history of research funding and current research funding will be given preference. The applicant will also be expected to be active in teaching medical students, residents, fellows, graduate students, and students in the Pathologists’ Assistants Program. Academic appointment and salary will be commensurate with experience.
