Courses are primarily introductory undergraduate courses, such as Introduction to Literature: Poetry, Drama, Narrative; The Short Story; Literature to Film; Literature, Science and Technology; Shakespeare; Multicultural Literature of the U.S.; World Literatures in English; Literature and Public Life (includes a community engagement component); and Modern Fiction. Upper-level undergraduate courses could include Textual Analysis: Methods; The Essay; American and British Literature survey courses, and elective offerings such as Science Fiction and Fantasy, Children’s Literature, and other courses.
We welcome candidates whose experience in teaching and research has prepared them to contribute to the English Department’s commitment to building equity, diversity, and inclusion into their courses.
