About the Opportunity

Performs basic or applied research of a limited scope, primarily using existing theories and methods. Individuals should have the ability and desire to innovate when these are insufficient. Assists the supervisor in the interpretation and publication of results and grants. Maintains the laboratory research team and may exercise functional supervision over supporting research staff. Primary responsibility is ensuring that the research is complete.

This postdoctoral researcher will conduct research in interpretable machine learning, with a specific focused project pursing the problem of extracting new human-interpretable knowledge from large-scale machine learned models.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in initiating, executing, and completing research and experiments.

• Prepare and write research papers, presentations, grant proposals.

• Train Graduate Students.

• Laboratory Management.

Qualifications:

Must have a Ph.D. or equivalent; be able to undertake substantially full-time research or scholarship; work under the supervision of a senior scholar. The candidate must have experience conducting and publishing research in deep network interpretability in venues such as NeurIPS, ICLR, and ICML. The candidate must have experience applying mechanistic interpretability methods.
