Job Summary

The Associate Director of Student Inclusion and Belonging will design and implement educational programming around self- awareness, intercultural understanding, and dialogue concerning inclusion and belonging that serve the primary constituencies as well as the larger campus community.
This position will report to the Executive Director of Inclusion and Belonging and will help to oversee the day to day operation of center known as the HUB (Honoring, Uniting, Building). This person will also lead the administrative functions of Student Inclusion and Belonging programs and services, including goal setting, collaborations, budgetary oversight, student staff supervision, and center operations.

Responsibilities

Leadership - 40
- Provide leadership for and effective operation of the HUB, including setting vision, creating processes, assessing programs, supervising student staff, and promoting programs and events.
- Prepare and manage department budgets, allocating resources in accordance with strategic and operational objectives.
- Develops and implements Center policies and procedures consistent with University policies and procedures.
- Ensures maintenance of physical center space.
- Serve on University committees representing Student Inclusion and Student Life

Programming - 40
- Foster an inclusive campus community, student engagement, student development, and seamless student learning experiences by creating and promoting opportunities for dialogue toward an understanding of inclusion and belonging.
- Assess student needs and design programs, services and partnerships to address those needs.
- Define and assess key student learning outcomes.
- Develop and implement programs and initiatives to further the development of a culturally engaged campus community.
- Design and implement programs and events that engage communities of difference in ways that enhance student learning and advance multicultural and intercultural understanding and competence
- Develop and sustains campus-wide programs that raise awareness and provide education around social justice, institutional racism, power and privilege, oppression, and cultural and ethnic identity.

Advising - 15
- Provide direction and leadership for student groups affiliated with the HUB as their advisor.
- Advise, mentor, and provide organizational development opportunities for student leaders and student organizations that align with student identity development theory.
- Create programs which assist students with the transition into Georgia College and State University

Other - 5
Performs other duties as assigned including but not limited to serving on division or campus committees, developing initiatives for the department and division, and implementing special projects. The Associate Director is responsible for sound decision making and accountability for areas of oversight.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related discipline

Other Required Qualifications
Broad knowledge of the field of higher education and student affairs.

Work evening and weekend hours as required.

Required Experience
Minimum of at least three years demonstrated success in the Student Affairs arena.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or related discipline

Preferred Experience
Seven years experience in student affairs or a related field
