The Department of Communication, University of Arizona, invites applications for an assistant/associate professor in communication and alcohol studies. The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. in Communication or related discipline, and an established and visible research program that focuses on alcohol or alcoholism and communication. This could be studied from the perspective of health, interpersonal, organizational, or mass communication. The successful applicant will also have a record of extramural funding to support alcohol and alcohol-related communication research. In addition to a strong research program, and a record of teaching excellence and service to the university, profession, and/or community are strongly desired.  This position will include teaching responsibilities at both undergraduate and graduate levels, in face to face and possibly online formats. The successful applicant will have developed a strong track record of excellence in teaching diverse populations.

The department is committed to empirical communication research, either basic or applied, making original and substantively important contributions, and is regularly ranked among the top communication research programs in the country.
