Penn Dental Medicine's Supervisor for Clinic Dispensary Services provides direct oversight of duties and responsibilities of dispensing staff for clinic practices. The Supervisor reports directly to the Director of Clinical Affairs and works closely and collaboratively with supervisors of the Instrument Sterilization Management and Clinic Dispensing Services units.

Job Description
The Supervisor for Instrument Sterilization Management/Clinic Distribution Services provides support in the oversight of duties and responsibilities of services staff for clinic practices. Responsibilities include:
- Monitors and ensures the distribution, collection,
sterilization, and inventory/maintenance of tools and equipment
utilized in the clinics is staffed and tasks are performed safely,
efficiently, accurately, professionally and in
compliance.
- Leads and manages staff members; including, but not limited to
initiatives involving hiring, training, professional development,
team engagement and performance appraisals. Works collaboratively
and in partnership with PDM Human Resources on areas related to the
employee lifecycle. Develops the teams orientation and training
program.
- Monitors coverage and support of sterilization assignments with
the ability to pivot and step in as an attendant to ensure
sufficient coverage and seamless operations for patient
care.
- Troubleshoots concerns/issues which may arise while ensuring
all practices and activities are within safety compliance and
accreditation policies.
- Develops and coordinate work schedules and shift assignments,
providing daily assessments of team/tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
This position requires the ability to work flexible hours as well as a minimum of two (2) weekends a year to support annual dental student clinic examinations.
Compensation to commensurate with experience.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree and 2-3 years of experience or equivalent
combination of education and experience is required.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of supervisory experience.
- Previous dental experience a preferred.
- Excellent customer service and oral and written communication
skills required.
- Experience with Windows-based software required; dental
software experience preferred.
