Description
The College of Science and Humanities is seeking adjunct instructors to teach FA 135 Piano and Keyboard Basics and FA 203 Sounds like Music in Fall 2023 semester. This is an on-campus position.
Examples of DutiesTeaching college-level courses in piano and keyboard or music appreciation and all that this entails, including, but not limited to these tasks:- Adapting the current syllabus and creating course outcomes and learning objectives; creating course assessments, lectures, class activities, readings, and assignments that help students obtain those objectives; assessment and grading of students, meeting/communicating with the class and with students outside of class as needed
- Meeting/communicating with Chair or Dean as needed or required,
- Using Husson University’s Canvas course management system, the faculty portal for grade submissions, and campus email systems
- Abiding by and applying relevant Husson Academic Policies and standards
A completed Master’s degree in Music Education or related degree
is required; a successful record of teaching college courses in
music strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
• Knowledge of a broad range of music disciplines, such as history,
theory, and performance.
• Knowledge of a broad range of instruments, audio technology, and
musical genres, including some knowledge of contemporary and
popular styles with which students are likely familiar (rock, rap,
hip hop, R&B, electronica, etc.)
• Ability to relate to students of diverse backgrounds and musical
interests, broaden their musical horizons, and challenge them
creatively and academically
• Ability to work collegially in common purpose with other faculty
in the humanities and fine arts to strengthen the presence of the
arts at Husson University

Masters Prepared $933.33 maximum per credit hour*
Undergraduate Course:
Doctoral or Equivalent Prepared $1,016.67 maximum per credit
hour*
Graduate Course
Masters Level Prepared $1,016.67 maximum per credit hour*
Graduate Course
Doctoral or Equivalent Prepared $1,100.00 maximum per credit
hour*
*Rate is dependent upon the number of students enrolled in the
course assigned.
Lab Sections Undergraduate:
Masters Prepared $1,150.00 per credit hour
Doctoral or Equivalent Prepared $1,250.00 per credit hour
