Position Purpose
Dartmouth College’s Dept of Epidemiology is seeking a reliable and experienced driver to operate a newly acquired large van (25’ in length) for our children’s health research project. The primary responsibility will be to transport project personnel and materials to various locations across Vermont and New Hampshire, including larger populated areas such as Manchester, NH, to provide outreach to study participants, and perform research related activities. The ideal candidate will ensure safe and timely transportation while maintaining the vehicle in good working condition.

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Minimum Qualifications:
● High school diploma or equivalent.
● Must be able to qualify as a Dartmouth Approved Driver, which includes a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, a Defensive Driver course and obtaining DOT Health Certificate for vehicle over 10,000 lbs. https://www.dartmouth.edu/transportation/driver_safety_program/approval_process/index.php
● Minimum 1-2 years experience driving large vehicles (over 10,000 lbs.), preferably in a professional setting.
● Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to work independently and reliably.
● Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
● Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
● Manual dexterity and physical coordination to perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
● Existing Dartmouth College Approved Driver and DOT certification
● Experience in medical settings, clinical research, or childhood education a plus
● Familiarity with the Dartmouth College area and surrounding regions is a plus.
