Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the coordination and processing of the bi-weekly regular and contractual payroll with oversight of the Payroll Manager.
- Process the university’s biweekly payroll for all employees, and review the work of others • Accurately record, monitor and report actual time and attendance of employees
- Develop and implement proper internal control policy and procedures • Input exception time data and positive time data to Central Payroll Bureau (CPB) system before the scheduled closing • Communicate, and advise as appropriate, with Human Resources for any changes to payroll • Create and review system audit reports for payroll processing
- Assists university employees with questions or problems regarding payroll • Troubleshoots payroll and time entry related problems for faculty and staff
- Communicate with CPB on all payroll matters • Calculate pay rates relating to reclassifications, overtime, leave payout
- Update system schedules and run system procedures for payroll processing
- Process payroll reallocations and maintain proper support documentation
- Process payroll interfacing files to general ledger
- Process and distribute labor distribution reports
- Assist with payroll system implementation and enhancements when necessary
- Participates in the training of staff on PeopleSoft Payroll, including Time and Labor and Self-Service
- Maintain accurate filing system of support documentation

- High School diploma required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum four (4) years of payroll experience. Must have and demonstrate computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel. Workday experience preferred.
- Position requires the knowledge to perform mathematical computations; payroll fundamentals, review and process financial documents; and reconcile financial data.
- Position requires skills in using calculator, computer and automated office equipment and automated payroll or financial systems.
- Position requires the ability to communicate well orally and in writing and strong interpersonal skills.
- The ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, and the ability to organize records and multi tasks is also required.
