ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Effective teaching by way of good communication, assessment of student learning, and adaptation to various levels of student preparation.
- Provide up-to-date coursework and course-related materials.
- Use teaching-related technologies when determined appropriate.
- Engage in scholarly activities and research.
- Maintain a safe and engaging learning environment.
- Keep office hours at times convenient for students.
- Meet with classes at their scheduled times.
- Teach courses, both face-to-face and/or online
- Carry out academic advising responsibilities.
- Participate in the ongoing development and implementation of programming at the department, college and university levels.
- Reports directly to the Social Work Department Chair.
- Responsibilities include maintaining the confidentiality of designated information and performing duties in compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
- Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
- Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members.
- Student Mentorship and Supervision
- Academic Advising: Serve as an academic advisor to undergraduate students, assisting with course selection, academic planning, and progress toward degree completion.
Teaching Experience:
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate or graduate social work courses.
- Experience with a variety of instructional methods and pedagogical techniques suitable for diverse learning environments.
Commitment to Diversity:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
- This position does not have supervisory responsibility.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Certified Social Worker (CSW) or equivalent in experience
- The earned doctoral degree must align with the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) code 44.07.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- No or very limited physical effort required.
- No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
