Work Format Details
This is a hybrid position that is based in Massachusetts. This role requires a minimum of three days per week in the office. All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington and California (CA for exempt positions only). Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 8+ years of progressive administrative management experience
- Supervisory experience
- The role requires a minimum of three days per week in the office.
- Given the interdisciplinary nature of the program, background or coursework in the social sciences and/or in philosophy or theology is desirable, but not necessary.
- A master’s or doctoral degree is desirable, but not necessary.
- Demonstrated administration or program management experience within higher-education, non-profit, or business sector.
- Ability to operate independently with a strong sense of self-management.

Position Description
Program Oversight
- Work with the Faculty Director in shaping the Program’s intellectual, academic, and public mission.
- Oversee Program hiring and reappointments; interview and provide strategic guidance to Faculty Director on all new hires.
- Oversee Program Manager and work with IQSS staff in preparation of appointment and promotion files for all academic appoointments.
- Oversee and manage all staff-related HR concerns.
- Oversee all building management and IT services as needed.
- Identify new/additional office space and negotiate real estate or rental contracts as needed.
- Oversee the development and implementation of all communications strategy.
- Collaborate and regularly meet with business and civic leaders and strategic partners in business, medicine, education, and government and manage these relations (e.g. Delta Airlines, Tennessee Health Commissioner, OECD, etc.).
- Supervise the Communications Associate and all academic appointees in implementation of Program communications strategy and opportunities.
- Work with Program Impact Strategist and Communications Associate on strategy and implementation of dissemination of Program research, content, and communications.
- Oversee Program student engagement and all academic appointees' teaching and student formation activities.
- Oversee the Program website and social media accounts and direct and manage Communications Associate’s implementation.
- Represent the Program at meetings and conferences.
- Oversee, supervise, manage and work with the Faculty Director and Program Manager and Communications Associate on conference and event communications, planning, scheduling, and invitations.
- Oversee Program Manager’s work to serve as on-site coordinator for Program-hosted events, workshops, and conferences.
- Oversee all aspects of the Program’s budget, financial planning, projections, and fiscal stewardship.
- Work with IQSS finance team to monitor annual budgets and financial accounts.
- Produce quarterly financial reports for Faculty Director.
- Supervise Program Manager in processing invoices and reimbursements.
- Identify and pursue new grant opportunities.
- Develop drafts of grant content.
- Oversee relations with foundation and federal grant program officers, and foster new relationships.
- Provide Program academic appointees with financial and personnel information needed for new grant proposals.
- Oversee all spending for existing grants and donor funds (approximately $2.5 million/year in external grant support and donor contributions).
- Oversee communications and meetings with Program donors in collaboration with the Faculty Director.
- Identify and meet with new potential donors and develop and support opportunities.
- Organize and prepare reports for, and give presentations at the bi-annual advisory board meetings.
- Prepare periodic reports for Program donors.
