ASU School of Social Work is one of the largest schools of social work in the country with more than 2,000 students studying at one of our physical campuses in downtown Phoenix, West Phoenix, Tucson, and Yuma, or on online via synchronous and asynchronous options. ASU School of Social Work ranks #20 amongst MSW programs (US News & World Report) and #11 in research productivity (National Science Foundation), and overall ASU has been repeatedly ranked #1 in the country in innovation (US News & World Report), global impact (Times Higher Education), and sustainability (STARS tracking system). Our more than 70 tenure and career track faculty are a community of highly innovative and productive scholars who conduct research on a variety of topics related to social and economic justice, typically in collaboration with communities locally, nationally, and internationally. Our location in the Southwest and our status as a Hispanic Serving Institution affords excellent opportunities for interdisciplinary research addressing a variety of populations. The SSW has 11 research centers and offices that are highly engaged in our communities, such as the Southwestern Interdisciplinary Research Center, the Global Center for Applied Health Research, the Center for Child Well-Being, the Office of Gender-Based Violence, the Family Violence Center, and the Office of American Indian Projects. SSW researchers frequently collaborate with various ASU departments, including the College of Health Solutions, the College of Global Futures, the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, the Edson College of Nursing & Health Innovation, and the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law.
