Job Summary

The Professional Research Experience Program (PREP) encourages applications for a Postdoctoral Associate ! This position will involve research and development of micro and milliscale magnetic hydrogel sensor transduction mechanisms and of magnetic hydrogel sensors for use with NMR or MRI.
The University of Colorado Boulder is committed to building a culturally diverse community of faculty, staff, and students dedicated to contributing to an inclusive campus environment. We are an Equal Opportunity employer, including veterans and individuals with disabilities.

Who We Are

The Professional Research Experience Program (PREP) is a special partnership between the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the University of Colorado Boulder. PREP provides research opportunities to CU undergraduate and graduate students, as well as researchers with a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in NIST labs to gain research experience alongside NIST scientists.

The particular group that needs a researcher is the Magnetic Imaging Group under the Applied Physics Division at NIST.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

The Postdoctoral Associate will be responsible for research and development of micro and milliscale hydrogel composites for use as novel sensors, particularly including NMR sensors, including geometrical design of sensors, developing fabrication protocols for sensor construction, exploring novel chemistries to enable new sensing measures, and demonstration of multiplexed sensing of multiple variable simultaneously. This role will be expected to also collaborate with other group members towards iterative development and design of NMR sensors optimized for both conventional as well as possibly unconventional NMR systems. The individual will be required to document and summarize research and is expected to present research results in peer reviewed scientific publications, at international scientific conferences, and at internal group meetings.

What We Can Offer

The salary range is $66,000 - $75,420 annually.

Benefits
