Director of Entrepreneurship and Digital Ecosystem Programs

Overview

Claflin University is seeking is a Director of Entrepreneurship and Digital Ecosystem, for Black owned businesses in and around the Orangeburg, SC community. The Director of Entrepreneurship and Digital Ecosystem will be responsible for the support and growth of the program and will work closely with interested students.

Responsibilities

The Director of Entrepreneurship and Digital Ecosystem will report to the Associate Vice President for Information Technology and will be responsible for overseeing and managing two programs: the Digital Entrepreneurship Accelerator Program and the Building Supportive Digital Ecosystems for Black-Owned Businesses Programs. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, program management, and ensure the effective implementation of both programs. This role requires strong project management skills, experience in entrepreneurship and digital ecosystems, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position. This is a grant funded position.

Qualifications

Must have at least 3 years’ proven, successful experience in program management, preferably in the field of entrepreneurship or economic development and have led aspiring student entrepreneurs who have little or no experience. The candidate must have a strong understanding of digital entrepreneurship, digital skills, and technology-driven ecosystems. The applicant must also have a demonstrated passion for developing tomorrow's leaders, with the ability to motivate and inspire others, build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, and have exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas to different audiences.
