Job Description:
The Associate Director of BIPOC Student Success will work to provide a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment committed to the success of all students and to enhance a shared sense of belonging. This work will include organizing programs that enhance students' capacity for critical thought around issues of diversity and inclusion, as well as their ability to engage across differences and create inclusive spaces. In this role the associate director will have direct oversight of supportive spaces for marginalized students, housed within the Intercultural Collective (113 Euclid and the Barner McDuffie House). This work functions under an intersectional lens and will be highly collaborative with other offices in the Intercultural Collective (Center for International Services, Disability Cultural Center, LGBTQ+ Resource Center, and First-Generation programming).
In this role, the Associate Director uses wellness, student development, and culturally competent frameworks to provide programming, individualized and group-based developmental advising, coaching, and other support to BIPOC students. The Assistant Director collaborates with the Executive Director to plan, implement, and evaluate unique engagement activities that promote community, fellowship, and sense of belonging among BIPOC students

Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and programmatic oversight for BIPOC student Success initiatives, which may include budget, marketing, communications, and outreach efforts.
- Supervise three coordinators and a program manager appropriately and effectively (113 Euclid, Barner McDuffie and Mentoring).
- Participate in the coordination, orientation, training, and on-boarding for professional and student staff in the Intercultural Collective.
- Work in close partnership with the Executive Director and colleagues within the Collective and across campus to develop educational opportunities, and initiatives that promote students' development of intercultural competence, including the planning and celebration of various heritage months.
- Compile annual report on programming conducted for BIPOC student success.
- Hire, train, and supervise graduate and student managers to provide support for programs, events and other activities held by BIPOC Student Success.
- Work collaboratively with 113 Euclid and Barner McDuffie House leads to coordinate programs and manage communications with the campus community and greater community regarding announcements and engagement events and activities for BIPOC students.
- Participate in the planning and implementation BIPOC student success programming to include, mentoring programs and historical celebratory months including Latine Heritage Month (LHM), Native Heritage Month (NHM), Black History Month (BHM), and Asian, Asian American, Pacific Islander History Month (AAPIHM).
- Provide support and advise cultural student groups where possible.
- Lead the planning and implementation of End of Year Celebration, Multicultural Graduation Reception, and the Black Graduation/ltanwa Orinwa (Our Story, Our Song).
- Manage student success mentoring programs in collaboration with applicable graduate, and coordinator staff to include Dimensions, WellsLink and Men of Color Initiative. To include, advisory council oversight, ceremonies and receptions, and oversight of graduate staff and interns conducting weekly meetings and workshops.
- Serve on divisional and campus committees as requested/needed.
- Assist in the oversight to graduate and student employees of the Intercultural Collective.
- Other duties as assigned.
