SECONDARY EDUCATION, WESTMINSTER COLLEGE. Assistant Professor of Education position to begin Fall 2025. The Westminster College School of Education seeks a candidate for a 9-month assignment. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Secondary Education and the direction of the Secondary Education Program. The teaching load is three courses per semester (in person) and will include, in addition to courses supporting the secondary education program, courses in the core curriculum and first-year program. The College also expects research outputs in the relevant field of specialization.
A successful candidate should document:
- an earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Secondary Education or its equivalent from an accredited institution by August 2025. expertise in and experience working with children and adolescents, especially in grades 7-12. expertise in and experience utilizing best practices and current research in teaching secondary students. evidence of excellence in college teaching, including face-to-face and online formats. familiarity and experience using instructional technologies for secondary education, including cloud computing, collaborative environments, game-based learning, and augmented reality technologies for learning and creative expression within the environment of pre-college education. demonstrated potential for, or record of, research in secondary education, leading to a sustained record of scholarship. evidence of strong interpersonal and communication skills, effective collaboration, and collegiality.
