Job Details
As part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and world views Marian University is seeking a Programmer Analyst who will promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by working with the Manager of Application and Development and the Application Development team to manage school wide systems. This position will work directly with Marian University schools and departments to customize existing systems or create new systems to fulfill their specific needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies
- Support Marian University’s core applications including Colleague, Argos, StarRez, CRM Recruit, Canvas, Qualtrics, AMP, SharePoint Online, Argos. Etc.
- Analyze and prepare documentation of business user requirements for university projects and system initiatives
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL using SSMS, SSRS, and SSIS
- Update application environments to create proper testing and staging practices for on premises applications
- Work University partners to implement new system integrations with setting up APIs, exports, imports, automations, etc.
- Consult with vendors to solve problems impeding computer processing, data integration, break/fix, or new implementations
- Work tickets to resolve problems as needed to ensure that customers receive prompt, efficient service and within SAL timeframe
- Assist users with day-to-day questions, problems, and issues on corporate network
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with SQL reporting required.
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with relational databases preferred
- Report writing experience with Argos Preferred
- Familiarity with Microsoft Internet Information Services and WebAPIs preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and telephone etiquette.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work closely with others in a team environment yet also highly motivated with an ability to work independently.
