Safety Officer

Position Summary:
Monmouth University is seeking applications for a Safety Officer in the University Police Department. The shift is Monday - Friday from 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm.
The candidate would be expected to: conduct foot patrol of interior, exterior and parking lot area of off-site location and secure the building as needed; notify dispatch and shift commander as well as the municipal police of any criminal or suspicious activity; enforce University rules and regulations.

This is an in-person on campus, non-remote position.

- Must be able to conduct foot patrol.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- Must be able to respond to call-ins as needed.
- Ability to maintain data manually and generate neat and accurate reports.
- Must be able to maintain composure and appropriate decorum during difficult situations.
- A valid driver’s license in your state of residence and have had no serious violations (Type A) within the past five (5) years and no more than three (3) moving violations (Type B) in the past three (3) years. University Policy found here: Monmouth University Vehicle Use Policy.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a Class I, II, Park Ranger or Security Officer.
