California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona), invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Finance position in the Department of Finance, Real Estate, and Law beginning Fall 2025. Cal Poly Pomona is one of three polytechnic universities in the 23-campus California State University system and among 12 such institutions nationwide. Student Population.  Cal Poly Pomona is the number one polytechnic university in the nation for student diversity and economic mobility. College of Business Administration: Cal Poly Pomona’s College of Business Administration and Singelyn Graduate School of Business is one of the largest AACSB-accredited business schools in the nation, serving more than 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students with 81 tenure/tenure track professors and 84 lecturers. Ranked as a best business program by U.S. News & World Report (2024), the College is comprised of six departments, offering eight undergraduate options under the degree Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. The Singelyn Graduate School of Business was established in 2022 with a transformative gift from alumni couple David and Ruth Singelyn and offers Master of Science degrees in Business Administration (MBA), Accountancy, Business Analytics, Digital Marketing, Digital Supply Chain Management, and Information Security. The College is home to six centers of excellence that provide research opportunities, industry collaboration, and polytechnic student experiences. Department of Finance, Real Estate, and Law:

The Finance, Real Estate and Law (FRL) Department offers a B.S. degree in Finance, Real Estate and Law, serving approximately 1,000 diverse students in the major. The success of our program results from our student-centered, inclusive environment and solid curriculum that integrates hands-on experiential learning experiences, such as financial analysis and trading experience through the use of our interactive Bloomberg terminals and the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) program. Our faculty work closely with students through four award-winning student organizations: the Finance Society; the Real Estate Association; The Society of Law, Contracts, and Property; and the Student Managed Investment Club (SMIC).

The FRL Department provides a supportive environment for new faculty members to grow as teacher-scholars, with funding opportunities for classroom modernization and instructional innovation, as well as excellent research support through access to Bloomberg terminals, WRDS subscription including COMPUSTAT and CRSP Databases, and regular funding for conference travel. Position description: The new faculty member will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in corporate finance and investments. The successful candidate must also have a strong commitment to research and scholarly activities, and service to the Department, College, University and Community. Minimum requirements include:

• Candidates must have a Ph.D. or DBA degree in Finance or a related field at the time of appointment. Demonstrated commitment to inclusivity and equity. Salary Range for Academic Year, Nine-Month Appointment: $134,000 - $138,600.
