Position Purpose
Leads and executes mission-critical systems and logistics for Office of the Senior Vice President for Advancement. Manages Advancement priorities for the president, provost, and trustees by driving requests for time, nominations, and meeting content and preparation, while also serving as point person for senior leadership and Board Chair for such requests. Plans and oversees all logistics for the President’s Leadership Council ( PLC ) meetings up to three times a year: on and off-campus and/or virtually. Critical to success will be working effectively with others in high-pressure situations, exercising good judgment, while handling multiple tasks within tight timeframes to execute donor and volunteer engagement strategies.

Description
Manages complex coordination and planning process for Advancement requests for the President, Provost, and trustees’ time including multi-day, multi-city trips requiring ability to influence senior colleagues in Advancement and president’s office to yield strategic outcomes. Advises on presidential briefing documents produced by colleagues across Advancement division, reviews and rewrites to meet the needs of the president and most accurately reflect the donor strategy – based on deep knowledge of both; prioritizes requests for events and individual meetings for review and approval by President, Provost and Senior Vice President ( SVP ); negotiates with president’s and provost’s offices and frontline staff to reach strategic resolution in the event of changes to president’s and provost’s calendar that impact Advancement endeavors. Drives deadlines so that President and Provost receive appropriate and timely briefings and supporting materials that meet the highest standards of quality, and that timely and effective follow-up activities and communications take place. Ensures best practices for efficiency and professionalism with leadership team resources; advises Advancement constituents on appropriate tone, type, and quality of written requests; serves as a liaison and buffer between Advancement and the President’s Office, and proactively recognizes problems and recommends solutions in a timely and direct manner. Represents needs of the president’s office to Advancement staff. Ensures a culture where effective teamwork, collaboration and innovation are expected, recognized, and rewarded. Leads by example with regard to appropriate risk-taking, cross-organizational cooperation, and clear standards of conduct. Remains up to date on the research for prospects and their philanthropy to Dartmouth to support senior leadership travel strategy.

Description
Manages the membership, nomination records, and event planning and logistics for at least two large-scale President’s Leadership Council ( PLC ) events per year in partnership with Events staff. Contributes to strategies for recruitment and identification of new members in partnership with SVP and Chief of Staff. Develops invitation concept in partnership with Marketing and Engagement team; manages feedback and insight required from senior leadership; oversees staff managing RSVP’s and empowers and holds primary staff accountable for outreach to PLC members; develops schedules for individual meetings with senior leadership that occur in conjunction with formal meetings. Participates in development of formal meeting content and develops or collaborates with the communications team to develop ad hoc materials for advance mailings, on-site distribution, and post-meeting needs.
