Position Summary
We seek a candidate for a temporary, limited FTE Clinical Instructor (12 month) non-tenure track position in our Undergraduate Program in Public Health. The person hired for this position will have a primary focus on teaching and mentoring Public Health students, and will make contributions to the scholarship and service missions of the School of Public Health and Health Professions ( SPHHP ). The person hired for this position will join a collaborative team of faculty & staff in our rapidly growing undergraduate program, established in 2017. We are committed to developing an excellent and diverse community of scholars and students engaged in education, research, and service. Academic Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
SPHHP offers programs at every degree level and is the home to the departments of biostatistics, community health and health behavior, epidemiology and environmental health, exercise and nutrition sciences, and rehabilitation science. It is one of only a few schools across the country that includes both health-related professions and public health. It has a diverse student body which it is actively engaged in supporting. The School has an energetic equity, diversity and inclusion council and provides professional development opportunities in inclusive pedagogy and other equity-related issues. Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree or current professional licensure in their state of practice or (3) three years of experience in applicable discipline or professional practice.
Preferred Qualifications
A master’s or doctoral degree with teaching experience in higher education, clinical experience in public health or health professions area of expertise.

- Deliver seated and/or online lessons to undergraduate and/or graduate students (maximum of 4-6 credits per academic year);
- Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of subject area;
- Provide students with appropriate learning materials and expertise in assigned subject(s);
- Evaluate student performance and provide effective feedback to guide student learning and success;
- Mentor students, write letters of recommendation, and serve as a professional reference throughout the year for job placement and/or graduate school support;
- Be responsible for contributing to and maintaining an inclusive and collaborative environment;
- Maintain a strong commitment to SPHHP’s ethics and values, as well as the School’s mission and vision;
- Requirements will vary depending on the program.
