Job Description:
Maximum 10 hours per week during the academic year reporting to the Outreach and Engagement Librarian. The candidate will manage library operations related to circulation and routine issues of building maintenance or security during the library's Saturday hours during the academic year.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervises and assists in the training of the student workforce
- Assists with processing of Course Reserve requests
- Oversees building opening and closing procedures during hours of operation and alerts other staff to security or maintenance issues
- Assists student, faculty, staff, and guest patrons with direct assistance and/or referral to other library personnel as needed
- Meets with the Access Services Team as needed
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
- Prior experience in customer service or retail preferred
- Previous supervisory experience
- Customer service skills
- Proficiency in office applications (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to troubleshoot basic technology issues
- Comfortable using computers and related software
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy as required by position.
