Job Description:
The Assistant Athletic Director, Business Operations provides high-level financial support for the Division of Athletics and Recreation, a complex organization with annual operating expenses of $30 million. This position provides appropriate financial controls by reviewing and approving expense reports, purchase orders and supplier invoices as one of three Cost Center Managers for 45+ Athletic Department cost centers. The incumbent manages and coordinates various areas of responsibility within the Athletic Business Office and ensures effective daily operations, and compliance with University, NCAA and Ivy league policies.
All department employees are required to demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations; the duties of the position are to be performed in compliance with all NCAA, Ivy League and ECAC rules and regulations; and any rules violations on behalf of themselves or any knowledge of violations within the department are to be reported to the appropriate parties.
The successful candidate for this position will be required to complete a criminal background check satisfactory to Brown University prior to commencing employment.
Job Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years related experience or
equivalent combination of education
- and experience, including previous managerial
experience.
- Highly proficient in Excel applications (data manipulations);
MS Excel and Google Docs
- preferred.
- Previous experience in Workday preferred, but not
required.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload in a multi-tasking
environment while maintaining
- careful attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with
discretion.
