Job Description:

The incumbent will serve on the Class, Reunion, and Initiatives Senior Management team, taking a lead role in strategic decisions impacting the Reunion team in the following areas: direct response marketing, volunteer resources, volunteer training, pipeline management, the Reunion Honor Roll, and the Brown Annual Fund's recommendations for the Aides and Marshal process. The incumbent will identify and leverage best practices in Reunion Giving to help inform strategic decisions to ensure that the entire Reunion Giving team meets its goals and objectives.

The incumbent will set specific donor and dollar goals for an assigned cohort of undergraduate alumni classes celebrating quinquennial Reunions raising millions of dollars from thousands of undergraduate alumni donors annually . The incumbent develops, manages, recruits and develops volunteers, identifies high potential donors, helps solicits major gifts, solicits gifts for recognition society of Carrie Tower ($1,500 or more), and engages alumni in fundraising for the Brown Annual Fund.

The incumbent will supervise at least two (2) full-time staff including an Associate and Reunion Giving Officer. The Incumbent will oversee and guide strategy for the Reunion Giving Officer's assigned cohort of classes, coaching and helping set priorities as appropriate.

The incumbent supervises an administrative Associate and Annual Giving Officer(s), providing guidance, feedback, and supporting professional development.

Job Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience or relevant fields of study such as annual giving, fundraising, sales, marketing, higher education, or volunteer management.


Required Qualifications
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, motivate, and solicit a highly sophisticated donor/volunteer population.
  • Demonstrated successful front-line fundraising and/or volunteer management experience, preferably in a college/university environment or a major non-profit organization with demonstrated experience in closure of gifts at the six-figure level.
  • Staff management and program building experience required or completion of Brown's Leadership Certification Training program.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets (as well as the rest of the MS Office Suite and Google Suite)
  • Proficiency with Zoom (Meeting and Webinar) and CRM software.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Commitment to and understanding of unrestricted fundraising strongly.
  • Experience in a higher education or non-profit setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer software programs necessary to perform the job, including but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheet programs, databases, email programs, and web applications. Experience with database query tool

  • Comfort in dealing with a wide range of University constituencies.
  • Proficiency with database, spreadsheet, and word processing applications (Microsoft Word, and Excel preferred), along with demonstrated comfort in dealing with calendar programs and the Internet.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
